tools(verification): migrate gates and corpus drivers to Home TypeScript

#506

Parent: #497 Runtime foundation: home-lang/home#170

Scope

Migrate the verification gates, corpus drivers, and structural tests catalogued in docs/.data/tool-migration-inventory-v1.json to TypeScript executed by Home.

This family contains 16 verification_gate tools, 6 corpus_driver tools, and 12 structural_test tools: 34 tools total.

Contract

  • Home emits the TypeScript; zig-js is the normal engine and JSC remains an explicit differential backend.
  • No Python/Node/Bun execution fallback and no wrapper that quietly delegates to the old script.
  • Preserve exit codes, first-failure ordering, stdout/stderr placement, timeouts, sharding, survivor reaping, inventory schemas, and denominator checks.
  • Keep corpus execution offline and retain exact pinned roots/fixtures.
  • Add host capabilities in Home only where the migration proves they are necessary, with engine-neutral smoke coverage.

Acceptance criteria

  • All 34 catalogued tools are TypeScript run by home-tool.
  • Positive, malformed-input, and deliberate failure-path fixtures pass on zig-js.
  • Engine-neutral utilities pass the same fixtures on JSC.
  • Corpus drivers retain timing/reaping semantics and reject zero-file runs where the existing contract requires a denominator.
  • Every caller in Build, CI, skills, settings, and docs is migrated atomically.
  • Dependency and tool inventories remain self-auditing with exact runtime/script counts.
  • Full affected Zig gates and targeted TSan/corpus gates pass before removing each old implementation.

Closing as superseded by the selective disposition workflow in #497. A blanket migration of all 34 verification/corpus/structural tools would spend effort on stable implementations without first proving durability or a concrete Home capability need. Existing gates remain authoritative; selected future TypeScript work belongs under #497 with contract evidence.

Completed verification/corpus migration evidence:

  • fdfd36c: Home unit-suite sharding driver
  • 3ac75a6: combined Home/Bun private-ABI verifier (538 Home and 484 Bun symbols; zero pending)
  • 32bc9ba: release compatibility gate on Home; 12/12 gates green under zig-js and JSC
  • 0a34858: command-level WebAssembly feature evidence validation; 151,802 applicable passes across 10 terminal profiles
  • 027e1b6: live Wasm corpus driver on Home; pinned Core 2 imports witness exactly matched 162 pass / 16 explicit N/A / 0 failures
  • e864ea3: PR-249 reference audit on Home; 339 files, 253 promoted cases, six terminal dispositions, and 5/5 bounded probes verified
  • f3a0c53: zero remaining migration targets; dependency audit rejects reintroduced Python/MJS/shell tools

Final verification: release-ready passed, dependency audit reports 14 classified edges / 0 migration targets / 58 TypeScript tools, docs-link-check resolves 90 files, and the 49-page BunPress build matches its refreshed manifest. Flips 0 test262 cases.
