Apple Maps offers map types — Explore, Driving, Transit and Satellite (imagery with labels) — from a map mode picker. ts-maps has light/dark vector styles and raster sources, but there is no satellite/hybrid style and no picker control.
Scope
styles.satellite(...)/styles.hybrid(...): an imagery raster source with the basemap's roads and labels drawn on top (hybrid), in light and dark.- A
control.mapType()picker, styled like the other Apple-style panels, that switches styles without losing overlays, markers, routes or camera. - A "Driving" emphasis variant of the basemap (stronger roads, muted POIs).
- Offline downloads (
map.offline.download) must pick up the imagery layer automatically: they already enumerate the map's tile layers, but this needs a test. - Bindings parity.
Notes
- Imagery sources need keys or attribution (e.g. Esri World Imagery, MapTiler Satellite); make the source configurable.
