Commands, quicklinks, snippets, favourites and preferences live in one local database. Setting up a second Mac means doing all of it again, and the two drift apart.
Scope
- Export the full configuration to a single file, and import it.
- Optionally keep that file in a folder the person chooses, so a file syncing service can carry it between machines.
- Merge on import rather than replace, with conflicts surfaced rather than resolved silently.
- Clipboard history and usage records are excluded by default: they are the most sensitive data in the database and the least useful to copy.
Notes
A folder the user picks keeps this out of any hosted service and preserves the promise that the app works without an account.
