Context
Per Chris (chat, 2026-05-01 12:55 PM): this repo might be where our deps tooling lives — i.e. the surface that audits / inspects / manages dependencies across the stacksjs ecosystem.
Currently image-optimization is just a desktop GUI for image work. The thinking is the desktop-app shell + craft pantry-orchestrated build flow could double as the host for a deps-tooling app.
Open questions
- Is "deps tooling" a separate app inside the same repo, or does it replace the image optimization scope?
- Does it overlap with
buddy-bot(which already handles dep updates)? If so, what's the boundary? - If it's a UI on top of
buddy-botdata, where does the IPC live?
Acceptance
Decision documented here (or in a follow-up RFC), then either:
- Spec out the deps-tooling scope as its own milestone in this repo, or
- Spin up a dedicated repo and close this issue
