A workspace browser timeout previously exposed no failing transport operation. Record bounded, nonsecret operation, phase, native error class and elapsed time for browser discovery, page targets, WebSocket handshakes and private fixture control. Preserve the original error and every existing timeout. Reporting falls back to stdout when stderr is unavailable, and requested startup cleanup is distinguished from unexpected child exit.
Validation:
- All 11 controlled native HTTP/WebSocket peer cases pass, with 117 assertions. They exercise stalled headers and bodies, both socket handshakes, private control success/failure and an actually unwritable diagnostic descriptor.
- Pickier and application/runtime types pass. Independent Spec and Standards reviews report no actionable defects.
- The external peer is a controlled native transport fixture, not a Chrome substitute. An actual Chrome workspace attempt separately failed during stream renewal, retained as issue #64. No passing retry replaces that result.
Related investigations: #63 for the original unlabeled timeout, #64 for the actual Chrome launch-child/liveness failure and #65 for the separate cold-build setup interruption. The original causes remain open. Current-head CI run 39822149948 is terminal SUCCESS across all five jobs, including the full Buddy suite, actual rendered execution/workspace browser scenarios, firmware build and namespace isolation. The complete terminal log is retained (3,045,525 bytes; SHA-256 9f47a7df7cacba43cdf877c5a300bb27fae0b8e777480913b1252d7ab76fc2a4). These Linux successes do not resolve the separately retained macOS Chrome failure. No production authority or hardware behavior changes.
