Reproduction
Open Farming's native docs development server, using its own frozen Stacks 0.74.66 / BunPress 0.2.14 / Stx 0.2.306 graph, returns HTTP 404 for /screenshots/features.webp despite the existing file docs/public/screenshots/features.webp. Browser navigation from the marketing status notice reaches the correct documentation section but records this failed image request. The actual docs build copies the 137,888-byte image successfully. Native bunpress preview serves the same built page and image without console or network failures.
The current BunPress source at f833e29 still limits native development assets to .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .svg, .css, .js, .ico, .woff, .woff2, .ttf; .webp and .avif are absent. The preview MIME map supports both. No installed package was patched, and no app dependency was upgraded to mask this observation.
Acceptance
- Serve supported WebP and AVIF documentation assets from the existing docs/public and docs-root lookup paths in native development, with correct MIME type and exact original bytes.
- Exercise real HTTP requests against the native development server, including a missing asset and the configured docs mount.
- Preserve source-page routing, read-error handling and asset lookup boundaries.
- Qualify build/preview/dev behavior and a compatible published application adoption separately.
This is a native dev asset defect, not evidence of a failed static production build or deployed Open Farming correction.
Native source correction published
PR #90 is integrated into main at 9b2720277faedd052408c8a657dfc3ab85b4ba13, authored and committed by Chris without coauthors. The production delta only adds .webp and .avif to the existing native static lookup.
A real HTTP regression failed before the fix on an existing WebP returning 404. It then passed 41 assertions for both formats, public-first/docs-root lookup, configured/unmounted paths, exact opaque bytes, MIME types, public precedence, missing-asset 404, existing source-link rendering and native build copying of public assets. The complete local suite passed 596 tests with 1,772 assertions across 47 files; types, build and Pickier passed with two unchanged baseline warnings. Both independent review axes report no actionable findings. Feature CI run 39620678095 completed successfully for all applicable jobs, and its full logs are preserved.
The automatic main workflow is separate. This source fix is not a new npm release or an upgrade to Open Farming's existing 0.2.14 graph. The final compatible-release/application-adoption item remains open.
