The unchanged pinned test/js/bun/webview/webview-chrome.test.ts intermittently times out in Home on its first navigation, after the constructor-and-close test. The original 5,000 ms deadline must remain unchanged.
At main baseline f575a8d0d plus the WebKit host-entry/corpus-restoration batch, a ReleaseFast native Home build produced 51 pass / 1 fail / 117 assertions across all 52 tests. The failure was chrome: navigate + evaluate round-trip at 5,001 ms; all later tests passed. No native build was running during this serialized test batch. The same first-run pattern was recorded before this batch in #693.
Control and further observations:
- Pinned Bun
1.4.0-canary.1+4982b91e3passed the complete unchanged file: 52/52 / 117 assertions. - Five alternating fresh-process two-test probes (
constructor returns a WebView|navigate \+ evaluate round-trip) passed in both Home and pinned Bun: each 2 pass / 50 filtered / 2 assertions. Filtered tests are not coverage. - A later ordinary Home corpus route passed the complete file at 52/52. That later success does not erase the initial failure.
- The first full Home run followed the complete WebKit file; the later passing ordinary-route run used the same file order. No warm-up, retry, sleep, assertion rewrite, deadline increase, or backend fallback was added to production code or the corpus.
Reproduce from Home with HOME_NATIVE_VM=1 HOME_CORPUS_FULL_VM=1 BUN_DEBUG_QUIET_LOGS=1 zig-out/bin/home test packages/runtime/test/test/js/bun/webview/webview-chrome.test.ts, retaining the entire file and its original timeout. Also inspect the ordinary native corpus route with the two HOME overrides unset.
Trace the first process/target/session/CDP/load-event sequence and distinguish a runtime delivery defect from browser/host startup variability with controlled evidence. Do not close this on passing retries alone. Keep the source fixture byte-identical to Bun SHA 4982b91e3702094330f3be3883354c52b8c01323.
