Epic: #113 · Milestone: MC0 — Product & decisions

Why

docs/design/hig.md v0.2 is a desktop HIG (pointer, dense type scale). A living-room UI viewed from 3 m with a 5-button remote is a different discipline: bigger type, one obvious focus, no hover, no scrollbars, predictable directional navigation, and every animation as feedback for a key press. Craft enforces HIG tokens at compile time after the Phase 4 freeze, so the TV tokens must exist as data in docs/design/hig-tokens.home before the shell is written.

Tasks

  • docs/design/hig-tv.md: type scale for 1080p UI plane (display 96 / title 64 / heading 40 / body 32 / caption 24 px, min 24 px), 5 % title-safe insets, 8-pt grid ×2, contrast ≥ 7:1 for body on dark surfaces.
  • Focus language: one focused element, scale 1.08 + shadow + parallax on artwork, focus never lost (fallback rules), focus memory per row, wrap rules (no wrap horizontally, wrap-to-top on long vertical lists only via long-press).
  • Motion tokens: 150 ms focus move, 250 ms page transition, 400 ms hero crossfade, all ease-out-quart; reduced-motion collapses to 0.
  • Remote grammar: Up/Down/Left/Right/Select/Back/Menu/Play-Pause plus long-press variants; mapping table for CEC user-control codes, HID consumer usages, and keyboard keys; on-screen keyboard layouts (grid and T9-style).
  • Screen inventory with wireframes: Home, Library grid, Detail, Season/Episodes, Now Playing OSD, Settings, Onboarding, Search, Screensaver.
  • Add the tokens to hig-tokens.home under a tv profile.

Acceptance

Doc merged; tokens compile; wireframes reviewed against the budgets in #49 (no screen needs more than one full-plane redraw per key press).
